Structured Solutions announced the release of Shipper for UPS 1.0. This new
product for StoreFront merchants connects their online stores with UPS OnLine®
WorldShip® to create a fully automated solution the processing of shipments.
Using new smart client technology from Microsoft, Shipper eliminates manual data
entry to reduce processing time dramatically while achieving total accuracy.
Shipper is a PC-based application
that automatically extracts pending shipments from one or more online stores.
Each shipment is prepared for processing in UPS OnLine® WorldShip® (UOWS). After
weighing the package and printing the label, the tracking number, ship date, and
shipping service are automatically pushed back online so each store is always
up-to-date.
In addition to taking advantage of
all the features in UOWS, merchants can configure Shipper to send a separate
confirmation email to the customer, mark the order complete, and update the
customer's online address book with the UPS verified address. Every feature in
Shipper is carefully designed to reduce or eliminate a manual shipping task
performed by the merchant.
The user interface is also
carefully designed to require little or no instruction and little or no input.
Following the popular Microsoft Office 2003 product line, Shipper is extremely
easy to use. The interface is clearly divided into Stores, Shipments, and Print
Preview...very much like an email program. Merchants can see exactly which
shipments are still pending in each store and which shipments are waiting for a
label.
The extremely flexible print
feature can be used to print anything from simple work lists to detailed packing
slips. Formatting is so fast that the print preview function is always live
allowing the merchant to see the shipment details even while working offline.
Sample formats are included with Shipper that can be extended or modified to
create custom packing slips or work details.
