LinkPoint is a popular payment processing service offered by Card Service International. StoreFront 2000 offers integrated support for LinkPoint, and StoreFront 2000 users have been choosing Linkpoint with increasing frequency.
Configuring StoreFront 2000 with LinkPoint is a simple process. The only necessities are a good host and an account with LinkPoint. Follow the steps below to configure your StoreFront web to add real-time credit card processing through LinkPoint. Note: The LinkPoint system offers limited error handling. We recommend that you test the web completely in Email mode before attempting to integrate with LinkPoint. -
First, contact your host and verify that the server your site is hosted on has the LinkPoint COM object installed. If your host doesn’t already have this component installed, they can obtain it by emailing StoreFront Support.
-
Once the LinkPoint COM object is installed on the server, you can begin configuring your web. Start by connecting to the remote database on the server using the StoreFront Administrator (for more information on connecting with the Administrator, please click here).
-
Open the Transaction tab. From the Transaction Method drop-down menu, select LinkPoint. In the Payment Server Path, enter the following:
secure.linkpt.net
Your merchant type will vary according to your account with LinkPoint, but most merchants can use Authonly. The Payment Server Login field should contain your 6 digit merchant ID number provided by LinkPoint/CSI.
-
After making these changes to the web’s configuration, click OK, and then click Yes to save the new settings.
-
After configuring the StoreFront Administrator for LinkPoint, open your secure location in FrontPage and locate the sf.pem file in the ssl/sflib/ folder. Open this file in Notepad and delete the line that says “Put RSA Private Key here.” After removing this line, paste your RSA private key and digital certificate into this file(these will be provided to you by LinkPoint/CSI). Save the altered sf.pem file to the web. Test the web using a trial credit card number such as 4007000000027.
If you encounter a general processing error, it means that the web is functioning correctly. A subsequent test with a real credit card will authorize normally. If you encounter an “unspecified error,” contact StoreFront Support or review the steps outlined above.
