The purpose of this article is to describe to StoreFront 2000 users how they can upgrade their StoreFront 2000 Access database web stores to StoreFront 6.0. Continue reading for more information.
To upgrade a StoreFront 2000 web store to StoreFront 6.0: -
Open your StoreFront 2000 web store in FrontPage.
-
Click on the StoreFront menu and select About. You must have a version number of 4.04.3 or greater. If your version number is less than this, contact StoreFront Support for further instructions before proceeding.
-
After opening the store in FrontPage, locate its database. By default, this will be the storefront.mdb file in the fpdb folder.
-
Right-click on the database and select Copy, then right-click in the web store's root folder (the topmost folder in the web) and select Paste. This will create a copy of the database.
-
Right-click on the copy of the database that you just created and choose Copy. Open a browser and right-click in the Address window and choose Paste. Hit Enter. You will be asked to download a file; save it to your Desktop. This will create a local copy of your database.
-
-
Double-click the downloaded executable to install the database upgrade tool.
-
After the installation is finished, click on the Start menu and select StoreFront 5.0>>Database Upgrade Tool.
-
Click Browse and browse to the location of the database file you downloaded to your Desktop in step 5.
-
Select Microsoft Access Database and StoreFront 2000 to StoreFront SE.
-
-
Your database will be upgraded to StoreFront 5.0 format. To complete the upgrade to StoreFront 6.0, follow the instructions in this knowledge base article, beginning with step 6.
