StoreFront 6.0 menu does not display in FrontPage

Posted Friday, April 23, 2004

Some users have reported encountering a problem with the StoreFront 6.0 menu disappearing from FrontPage after FrontPage has already been opened once, then closed and reopened. This behavior occurs when FrontPage continues to run in the background on the development machine even after it has been closed and appears to be inactive. This is a known issue with FrontPage and can be addressed by ending all FrontPage processes that continue to run after FrontPage has been closed.

Note: also make sure you have the .NET Framework installed; see the StoreFront 6.0 .NET Readiness Guide for more information.

To end all FrontPage processes and regain the StoreFront 6.0 toolbar:

Close FrontPage.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del simultaneously.

Open the Task Manager and click on the Processes tab.

Select each instance of the FRONTPG.EXE process and click End Process. Do this until all instances of FRONTPG.EXE have been removed.

Re-open FrontPage. If the StoreFront 6.0 menu is still absent, click Tools and select Addins. The toolbar should load as soon as the Addins menu is opened.
