Converting StoreFront 2000 from AuthorizeNet HTTP POST to AuthorizeNet SSLConnect COM

Posted Saturday, April 24, 2004

AuthorizeNet was originally integrated with StoreFront 2000 as a payment processing solution. The original AuthorizeNet service differed from many of the other integrated payment processing services in that it used an HTTP Post method to communicate with AuthorizeNet's gateway, unlike most other services in which the use of a COM was the most popular method of communication. Because of concerns over the security and reliability of the HTTP Post method, LaGarde sought an alternative and began supporting the AuthorizeNet SSLConnect COM, eventually dropping support for the HTTP Post entirely and supporting the COM exclusively.

If you are a StoreFront 2000 merchant using AuthorizeNet to process credit card transactions online, we highly recommend converting your site to use AuthorizeNet SSLConnect COM. You can download the file needed for the conversion here .The username and password you will be required to submit will be the same as those used to download the StoreFront Software. The zip package contains a readme.txt that describes how to apply the update.
